YWF named as one of the Lord Mayor’s charities

By 10th July 2019Insight

Councillor Ruth Bush was welcomed as the new Lord Mayor of Westminster during Westminster Abbey’s annual Civic Service on Sunday 7th July 2019, also attended by the Councillors of the City of Westminster.

The Young Westminster Foundation is honoured and grateful to be selected as one of the Lord Mayor’s charities and will benefit greatly from the collection taken. This is a great recognition for our commitment to ensure all young people in Westminster grow up healthy, safe and happy with the best opportunities for brighter futures.

Our vision aligns with the previous work undertaken by Councillor Ruth Bush, working first-hand with residents in her roles as a Westminster City Councillor, Chair of Westminster Faith Exchange and on her new initiative, STOMP: Speak To One More Person. These roles are illustrative of her aim to bring together the different communities within Westminster, creating a city where all young people can flourish. We are looking forward to collaborating with the Lord Mayor over the coming year.
